Worldwide Fertilizer Use Map

Fertilizer use map showing affected coastal regions

Worldwide map identifying 415 affected Eutrophication and Hypoxia coastal systems by the World Resource Institute.

Eutrophication is the over enrichment of waters by nutrients – threatening and degrading many coastal eco systems around the world. The two most acute symptoms of eutrophication are hypoxia (or oxygen depletion) and harmful algal blooms, which among other things can destroy aquatic wildlife in affected areas.
