Enagic Water Ionizer and Jupiter Water Ionizer Comparison

Enagic, the multi level marketing company, started selling Kangen water ionizers in the United States in 2005. The claims made by Enagic seemed promising at first, however when the Enagic units where put to the test it became clear: The Enagic water ionizers cost 2-3 times as much as a Jupiter Melody and almost 4-6 times as much as the Jupiter Technos while producing the close to the same quality of water in both pH and ORP measured readings. The wattage on the LevelLuk is much higher than most other models.

As a result, one would conclude that the LevelLuk, with it's high energy consumption, would make stronger pH water, faster. However, when we tested the LevelLuk with a laboratory grade Oakton pH/ORP meter, the small difference in measurement doesn't warrant the large increase in cost, as well as, the increased long term cost of it's consumable electricity.

The reason for the difference? The mesh plate technology used by the Jupiter models, offers a large conductive surface area, thereby requiring less energy to operate. The actual surface area of the mesh plates, with it's peaks and valleys, is much greater, even though the Leveluk's smooth plates are larger. In fact, most consumer water ionizers when tested, will match the water quality as produced by even the most expensive Enagic units.
